Mark Williams insisted that he wants to “attack” today’s final and leave Manchester with no regrets against Ronnie O’Sullivan.
The Welshman led 3-1 and showed some scintillating snooker, before O’Sullivan bounced back to win the next four frames.
But Williams will have to put the second session out of his head and continue with plans to play aggressively tonight.
“I’m just going to enjoy it,” Williams told ITV at the start of the day. “How many more times is this going to happen?
“I couldn’t pick a better player to play in a final. I’m going to attack and try my best.
“I know I haven’t played Ronnie in a final for a long time but that’s because he keeps beating me before the final!”
